My name is Melissa.  I'm a 39 year old aunt of 11 nieces and nephews (+1 in Heaven).  I'm a Paramedic, a medical examiner, I taught at the local community college for about 4 years, and I taught dance for 17 years.  I like to keep my hands in a lot of pies, so to speak.

I was about 35 before I discovered I was bipolar.  Apparently I had been that way for at least 7 or 8 years.  I can't pin point the moment that it happened, that I went from sweet to psych, but I know a lot of situations that wouldn't have happened if I'd been medicated.  No sense in regrets, I literally had no control.  Ah *shrug* It is what it is.
I have found myself with a lot of extra time at work lately, and even though I'll be back in school soon enough with no time on my hands, I wanted to share some things with the world between now and then.  I hope you'll join me on this journey and maybe we can learn about each other along the way.
